100 young people from across Bosnia Herzegovina came together in hotel Hollywood, Sarajevo, to be inducted into the YouthBank 'movement' of youth-led grant-making. A variety of local trainers led a 3 day programme as part of an ambitious plan to expand the Bosnia Herzegovina network of YouthBanks from 17 to 32 in 2012-13.

A series of workshops with 34 more experienced grant-makers, called ''The Secrets to Success'' ran at the same time and included inputs on the practical application of leadership skills of grant-makers.

On Monday, 14th May, Mozaik Foundation organized an impressive event in the Bosnian parliament to launch the expansion of the YouthBank network with an investment of €1.3million from USAID. Guests included, the US Ambassador for Bosnia Herzegovina, USAID, Government officials, Mayors from 27 municipalities, over 200 young grant-makers and members of the print and telecommunications media.

Tim Jeanneret from the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia and Vernon Ringland from YouthBank Ireland addressed the audience with details of YouthBank work in Kyrgyzstan and the wider significance of the contribution the YouthBank approach has made in over 25 countries.
